Incident: My career experiences were in the IT Recruitment; I came from a very different field and I don’t have background in the financial industry. In IT Recruitment, I spent a lot of time in sourcing and screening candidates resume prior to calling them. Before I pick up the phone, I should have the impression that this candidate is 70% fits the position, I just need to probe more.
Point: It’s a different story here in ICPG. I had a training with Robert, and he mentioned that he doesn’t care about the experience but what he’s looking for is someone who is “hungry, humble and smart”. Don’t waste so much time in reading resume, just pick up the phone and call the candidates for you to understand them. And when you’re on the phone with them, you will learn their stories and understand their situation and from there you will know if the candidate will fit our organization.
Benefit: I followed Robert’s advice; I spoke to every single candidate who applied for the Sales position and I admit, Mr. Robert Moskovith is correct. Since I started, I spoke to a lot of candidates with different backgrounds and personalities and various experiences. This benefited the company, humbly speaking, we have hired great talents. Not only that it benefited the company, but it boosts my morale as well in speaking with candidates and learning more about our industry.

I really appreciated Frank’s presentation on public speaking.
Incident, point and benefit is a simple and effective way to structure talking points. I appreciated learning about this because I often have a habit of telling my stories all over the place…repeating myself or telling things out of order and backtracking. Because of this, I can get self conscious about my words. I can definitely see the benefit of using this formula when presenting or just talking to people.

1 -Profile complete.
2 -It happens that we have developed both customer and agent stories over time that I present in front of different audiences, large and small, nationwide to our affiliate business. We started with a customer story. It was inspirational, yet felt like something was missing. That is when we developed an agent story, which happened to have the “Incident” – detailed story for the audience. “Point” – short and simple message and “Benefit” – our message shifted from value to 3rd party, to value directly to the audience. Which I have to say worked well and effectively.
3 -I have a slightly different technique… before I get ready to present to large audiences. I usually like to find clear mental space someone behind the stage or on a side… and remind my self that every one here is here to hear what I have to say. No one is here to criticize or judge me and everyone has nothing support, love and appreciation for me. I am the right person to deliver the message and they cannot wait to hear from me.

2. Interestingly enough, when I presented the first and second time for genius makers – I used these very method of Dale Carnegie’s. The best parts for me are the stories in the beginning. You can make it completely your own. This method reminds of when I studied writing essays in college. What was the required was an introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction was to captivate your reader/audience, the body to deliver a message or “point” and the conclusion to provide a solution/end result or “benefit”. My experience in utilizing this strategy felt successful. Though I was nervous, I felt I had structure and was organized. This helped me gain confidence. Which the “I like myself” exercise helps accomplish as well.

Franks Presentation was Amazing . He is a wonderful leader to learn from . I know this is something I struggle with and other people as well . So this really help me out and It will help out others as well

Incident : Kevin started and no one wanted to make changes because everybody did what they wanted .After the first month we yelled at each other in the balcony and he told me to trust what he was trying to do because I thought I could’ve done more that month without the changes he did

Benefit : Had my best years . Now i lead an amazing team and i could pass down the knowledge that the Zen Master Kevin gave me

It did make me smile . I kind of did this before every presentation but i would tell myself that everything will be ok and i will do fine. That would help calm my nerves

Action Item
Incident – I was getting ready to give a presentation in front of a management team and presenting a proposed budget and cost analyst for the year.
Point – I had studied and put my presentation together and wrote almost everything down what I was going to say. I did a practice run with my father. He said that I had sounded like a robot and that I should put a few key points on an outline and use them as cue cards. He also suggested looking at different people and scan the room while speaking.
Benefit – I took his suggestions and the presentation was well received. I always remember what my father said “You can be prepared , but if you can’t convey your message. What’s the point”.
Gazing in the Mirror exercise – I tried doing and the first few times I kept laughing , but after saying I like myself enough times I actually smiled it was good exercise. Side note on this my son was walking by and said I am happy to hear you like yourself and started laughing and said at least some one likes you.

The incident:
It was the start of this year…We started getting news that the China Virus had started to spread. At first, we didn’t quite know what to do. We started watching people from other countries get fatally ill while others were quarantining and singing to their neighbors from their windows and balconies.
We started to think about our own families and work relationships. Should we continue to work in the office, or should we come up with a plan to find ways to work remotely and continue to conduct business?
We decided to take action and mobilize our teams to transition over to work remote weeks before it was a state mandate. We were well ahead of the curve and continue to make strides to continue to keeps our teams healthy and working to help others that are financially less fortunate.
The point:
It’s important to make a plan, take action, and stay convicted to the plan.
The benefit:
It’s sometimes scary walking into the unknown, wondering if the decisions you make will have a negative impact on your business and the livelihood of your team(s).
By working as a team and coming up with a well thought out game plan, it gives the walk a sense of confidence knowing that you can count on your fellow team members to do their part in making the journey successful.
Reflecting on what we did early on and the actions we took as a team makes me proud that we made the right decisions for our teams and the growth of our business.
Taking these leaps allowed us to see outside the box a bit more and gave us the ability to find team members that were never in our view because of location restrictions.

The Peloton Presentation:
Over the thanksgiving weekend, I took the opportunity to put our presentation exercise in action. My goal was to explain to my wife, why we should purchase a Peloton exercise bike.
After several minutes of hiding in the bathroom and repeating, “I Love Myself” in the mirror, I mustered up the gumption to tell her that I would like to discuss an idea.
Incident:
I started with a story, explaining how pre-covid, I would attend my gym regularly and would get a healthy dose of cardio weekly. This routine translated to me being more motivated to join her and her friends during their hiking outings.
Point:
I explained that the Peloton bike is a great workout machine that not only allows you to interact with others in a socially distance manner but also brings all of the fun from the gym to your very own home.
Benefit:
I further explained that, with our gym still closed, introducing our home to the Peloton exercise bike will allow us both to have a reliable and convenient source of cardio right in our living space. Use of this bike would not only promote good health but also give me back the motivation to join her on her hiking adventures.
Result:
Though I feel I made a great stance, I did not win this round with my wife. But nevertheless, persistence will get me that Peloton!
Incident:I think most people know I recently purchased a home that required quite a bit of upgrades. Because our lease was expiring on our current home we had very limited time to accomplish quite a few upgrades so we prioritized which projects were most important, and began to get quotes from several people to complete each upgrade. We started Construction immediately after. .
A few weeks later we were 50% complete and ahead of schedule. Then we had a little bit of a hiccup. We were told we needed a Permit from the city which held up construction. Apparently the Contractor we hired for this particular task set unrealistic expectations on how long the process will take and what’s needed to complete the job. Because our Lease was expiring on our current home we had very little options.. I ended up getting 3 additional opinions and quotes on what needed to be done and the time frame and was able to complete the job in a fraction of the time the other guy told me.
Point: Mike Tyson says everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. That’s exactly what happened. Because our Lease on our current place was expiring, we were forced to move into our home at 60% Completion. Every Task from that point on we asked for at least 2 separate Quotes on Prices and Estimate time of completion as well as any potential problems that may occur before deciding who to hire.
Benefit: Moving forward I learned to Plan for the best and prepare for the worst. To get multiple quotes and opinions to set realistic expectations for every upgrade needed. I also learned how to do a lot of the work myself so I didn’t have to wait on others.
Frank has this method down he is extremely charismatic and really keeps everyone engaged.
During our morning meetings somedays I feel like they are boring and being able to drive the message with a story about a client really helps.

Incident: A little shy of five years ago I started working for GLG, as compliance officer. I was very excited and at the same time scared to be working at GLG as Yana and I are friends. We had long conversations and set boundaries. Yana went an extra mile and spoke with my husband as we did not want any work misunderstanding to interfere with our friendship. We agreed to keep work and friendship apart at all cost.
Point: Almost 5 years later Yana and I are still friends. We both are working hard to keep our work and friendship separate, some days it is not easy, but we go back to our boundaries set at the beginning of this journey. Despite all fears, I knew that I had to work harder than anyone else, so no one will ever tell me or Yana that I got somewhere because of our friendship.
Benefit: 5 years later I am still at GLG and loving every minute of it. I also grew at GLG from one position to another, thanks to all wonderful leaders and team members who believed in me. Never let fears rule you and always work harder than expected!

So talking with the mirror is not my first time lol. I do practice it for many things in my life, it helped me through major anxiety. So yes I did smile ?

Franks presentation was awesome and I especially appreciated using the technique of Incident, Point and Benefit to structure my presentation. Presentations are something Im working to get better at. Usually Im extremely nervous and my voice tends to shake while I’m presenting. As I practice doing a small presentation with my 2 daughters using this structure I found I was able to be more organized with my talking points and my presentation had a much better flow to it. Using Incident, Point, Benefit allow me feel more in control and relaxed. Before getting started I stood in the mirror and repeated “I Like Myself ” a few times and immediately started laughing at myself. Using the structure Frank introduce us to definitely helped with my presentation to my daughters and will absolutely help me with future presentations/speeches.

2) In sales we call this as 3rd party story. I love using this strategy because it is very effective.
let me share my experience here before using this strategy,
I had this telemarketing call a few years ago when I was promoting ismartphoto to USA wedding photographers. The tog asked me, what is it for her when she’s doing well in his business for many years even without our new technology. I told her that it was a good question, and I asked her if when was the last time she spent $5 to promote her business she said, “never”. then I asked her if she knew the value of photography.
So I said, you know, We have this bride, got married 3x, and she only asked the same photographer to shoot all her weddings. So you see, the photographer was able to build a very good relationship with this bride. So before we launched this technology, I asked the photographer to call the bride and do some test to see her reaction. During the call, the bride told this photographer, that it was not a good time because she might have another divorce for the 3rd time. So we said not a good one..so the tog ask her if she still has the portrait of her wedding, and the bride said it’s in their room…so the photographer said he knew that it wasn’t the perfect time for her but he needs her help by giving him some honest opinion about the iSmartphoto technology, the bride said ok..he gave them instructions on how it works and told her, to do all of it the following morning with her husband. So what we did after the call is, we find all the photos that are not included in her albums, photos behind the scenes that was never printed. We made a slideshow with all of it and used their wedding song as the background music..then the following morning, the photographer received a call from the couple, not just the bride…thanking him while being so emotional..because the technology was able to remind them about the day when they made their vows to each other, it brings back the happy moments, it revives the feelings…
Through this short story (incident) I was able to show her the benefits and features of iSmartphoto technology and how it can show the value of her as a wedding photographer.
